A Multiple Catalog Workflow (MCW) is a term I use to describe the creation of a new catalog for separate events, jobs, clients, or locations. "Prompt me when starting Lightroom" is the preferred method of working with catalogs illustrated in this book. If you prefer to use the most recent catalog when launching the application, just hold down the Option (Mac) / Alt (Windows) key to bypass the Select Catalog prompt.
